Treatment of gynecomastia is sometimes manageable with a simple liposuction. In some circumstances, due to the excessive dimensions of the gland or to marked fibrosis of the mammary tissue, skin incisions with surgical excision are necessary.
Mammary glands in man are normally scarcely developed.
In some individuals, however, for hormonal or pharmacological influences or as a consequence of some specific pathologies, the mammary gland and the adipose tissue around it, can grow excessively imparting an anomalous appearance to the male thorax and making the patient feel self conscious.
