BREAST REDUCTION

Breast reduction (reduction mammoplasty), is an operation in which fat, glandular tissue and skin are removed from the breasts making them smaller and more proportionate to the rest of the body.
Several different approaches can be used to perform this procedure and Dr. Roberto Uccellini will discuss with you which technique is more appropriate for your case and will explain to you the type and course of the ensuing scars.

The breasts develop during adolescence and the size and shape that they reach is largely determined by inherited genes and hormonal influences. Aesthetically pleasing breasts, even if large, must be proportionate with the rest of the body. Sometimes it happens that one breast is larger than the other or that both breasts reach undue prominence causing considerable discomfort.
Too large breasts can make it difficult to wear fashionable clothes, indulge in active sports, and may cause other problems like rashes under the inframammary fold, backache, neck pain, grooves in the shoulders from bra straps and the feeling of self consciousness.
